Newport TICThe first port of call for potential visitors to the Island is often our Call Centre. Trained staff deal with over 165,000 enquiries each year ranging from official guide requests, ferry information, advice on which resort suits individual needs to event information, ticket sales and mail order sales. Our mail order service can be accessed from Isle of Wight Tourism's web site and includes the retail of publications and books relating to the Island and activities. The Call Centre utilises the DMS to offer callers booking and referral services including ferry reservations. These booking services are available to all accommodation providers.

Referral Service - visitors contact us by telephone and request names and telephone numbers of establishments matching their requirements. They will then contact you direct and make their own travel and booking arrangements. No charge is made for this service. In order for us to obtain maximum coverage for your business, it is essential that you advise us of your accommodation availability on a regular basis.

Call centreAdvanced Accommodation Booking Service - advanced and last minute bookings are made when visitors contact us by telephone to have their accommodation pre-booked for them. We will telephone you to check availability and once confirmed, 10% of the total cost of the holiday is taken from the customer via credit/debit card. Confirmation of booking is sent by post, fax or e-mail outlining the deposit fee taken. The balance of the money will be your responsibility to collect. You must inform customers of their liabilities should they need to cancel their holiday.

Distribution Services - Our Distribution Centre handles over five million items of print each year. We offer a monthly distribution service of our official publications to accommodation providers registered with Isle of Wight Tourism.

Isle of Wight Tourism manages the Island's seven Tourist Information Centres. They play a fundamental role in our front-line service to visitors, with half a million tourists passing through their doors each year. As well as the wealth of local information held at each Centre, they also provide:

  • Over the counter accommodation enquiry and booking service
  • Leaflet displays*
  • Ticketing service for events
  • Car and coach parking tickets
  • Merchandise and souvenirs
  • An extensive range of Island books and products
  • Mainland information
