Totland Bay

Totland Bay is stuated on the West side of the Island where families enjoy the delightful beach. Under the Seaside award criteria.

Seaside AwardSince 2001 Totland has not only been able to fly the Seaside Award Flag but has also seen an increasing improvement in its Water Quality.

Totland seafront is suitable for those who enjoy a quite relaxing time on the beach. Just yards from the Water Front Restaurant and the catering facilities on the Pier you can enjoy an easy walk along the promenade to Colwell Bay.

During the summer season Totland beach is litter picked on a daily basis and large amounts of seaweed are removed and taken to local farmers for use as compost. Emergency equipment such as Lifebelts are strategically located along the Esplanade in order to ensure safety at any time of the year. The Inshore Rescue is also close at hand and are always on call by the Coastguard.

Like anywhere, Totland has its natural hazards so be sure to read the safety guidelines and have a good time. Information is provided at each area so check the tide timetables to ensure your own safety.

Colwell Bay

This small and sandy beach is tucked away on the quiter west coast of the Island with panoramic views of the Solent.

Compton Bay

Compton Bay is a sandy beach located beside the coast road between Freshwater Bay and Brook.

Cowes & Gurnard Beaches

Gurnard is a small pleasant resort to the west of Cowes.

Freshwater Bay

Freshwater Bay is a small sand and shingle bay adjacent to bus route, car park, coastal walks, nature trail, golf course, refreshments and toilet.

Ryde Beach

Ryde Beach is situated to the north of Ryde Town Centre and is accessible by either foot, car, public transport or our delightful Dotto Train.

Sandown Beach

Sandown is the best place to have fun beside the sea safely.

Shanklin Beach

Shanklin beach forms part of Sandown Bay which is famous for its Sandy beach and safe bathing areas.

St Helens Beach

St Helens Beach can be accessed by either foot or car.

Ventnor is a sun trap bay sheltered by high cliffs on which the terraced town is built.

Yaverland Beach

Yaverland is easily accessible by car or foot. Ample parking and only 1.5k from Sandown Town Centre.

Bembridge

Bembridge hosts several quiet beaches of pebble and sand, suitable for swimming except unsafe in harbour - use the beach adjacent to the east.
