Home > Endroits à visiter sur l’île de Wight > Yarmouth River Trips
Originally established in 1967 to carry visiting yachtsman to and from their boats, Thomas Harbour Water Taxis now offer River Trips along the Western Yar Estuary.
The beautiful and tranquil River Yar is home to a wide range of wading birds and wild fowl that are specially adapted to life on the mudflats and salt marsh. In fact this area of the Isle of Wight is so special that it has been designated as a site of scientific interest or "SSI".
Redshanks, Little Egrets, Teal and Oystercatchers are just a few of the species that can be found on the estuary and if you are very lucky you may just catch a glimpse of the Kingfisher darting along the riverbank.
Why not enjoy a gentle trip along the river with us, see the wonderful selection of wild birds, beautiful scenery and take time to relax and unwind.
All we ask in return is that our passengers’ refrain from throwing rubbish overboard and that any noise be kept to a minimum.
