Home > Les restaurants de l’île de Wight > Isle of Wight Locally Grown Produce

With it’s lush green fields, warm, sunny climate and surrounded by water it should come as no surprise that the Isle of Wight has an abundance of local produce that many eating establishments are keen to use.
Island bacon, lamb, fish, crab and lobster, cheese, vegetables, garlic, honey and ice cream; we have all this and so much more to offer our visitors.
Many local dairy farms produce their own award winning cheeses, milk, cream and ice creams. These are supplied to selected restaurants, shops and hotels but are also available from the Farmers Market or the farm itself if you’d like to buy direct.
The Isle of Wight is also home to the largest garlic grower in the UK. The family run Garlic Farm not only provides over 20 types of garlic it also produces many chutneys and relishes to compliment any dish.
You shouldn’t leave without trying local apple juice and cider or the best vintages, fruit wines, liqueurs and cordials from our three local vineyards.
Our Island breweries have been producing beer and ale since the 1800s using traditional methods with natural Island spring water and special yeast to create its unique taste.
The Isle of Wight Farmers' Market is held in Newport every Friday between 9.00am – 2pm and in Ryde every Saturday from 8.30am – 12.30pm.
All products on sale are grown, reared, pickled, baked, smoked or processed by the stall holders and are all of Isle of Wight origin.
If after sampling the delicious produce you would like to take some home with you for yourself or as a gift, many of the producers will carefully package your products for transport.
